is readily available to all
I feel the sacred energy
moving in me
I am healthy
in body, mind and soul.
“I highly recommend a heart-attack!”
...these joking words would be said by me in the wake of by-pass surgery eleven years ago.
It was a way of letting people know that even my so-called 'negative' experience was transformed into something wonderful, in part because of the power of healing energies set in motion by the faithful.
I could actually feel when the meditation group I belong to was praying and sending me healing vibrations. I owe them so much gratitude.
Whether activated by a physician, healer, or our own powerful visualization, healing affirmations work.
I remember in the '70s, when I first began a spiritual life in earnest, I would see doctors on television, strongly and with certainty, stating the there is no validity to positive thinking, visualization, and prayer when it came to healing.
Such things gave patients false hope, they claimed, so they were advised to drop it.
How far we have come! Since then, scientific investigating and undeniable personal testimony have shown that healing energies can be put in motion by anyone who has faith.
“Slow, deep breathing is probably the single best anti-stress medicine we have.” -
I came across this marvelous quote a while ago: this from Dr. James Gordon, Georgetown University School Of Medicine. I find it particularly fascinating that a doctor would use the word 'medicine' in this context.
As we come to learn through experience that the slowing down of the breath as preliminary to an affirmation or meditation session is important, we will further come to understand this yoga-science truth:
The breath and the mind are linked – the condition of one reflects upon the condition of the other.
In other words, if the breath slows (nothing forced, using time-tested, natural protocols) the mind will also slow down and become calm.
Squaring the Breath
If you don't know a natural breathing protocol, try the following technique called 'squaring the breath'
1. first, empty the lungs, then begin slowly inhaling to a comfortable count, say to 5 (here we are using 5, but use whatever count is suited to your lung capacity).
2. Then hold to a count of 5.
3. Exhale also to a count of 5.
4. The fourth part is holding the breath out to the same count of 5.
Repeat several times, then forget the breath – let it flow as it will - as you begin your affirmation.
This present affirmation can be used effectively as is, or to help heal another by substituting the name of the one in need where appropriate. Many blessing to you as you use it in whatever way you deem best.*
Remember to mark your calendar for the first of each month at 7pm your time.

“Healing energy is readily available to all. I feel the sacred energy moving in me. I am healthy in body, mind and soul.”
Format for easy memorization, step by step:
Healing energy is readily available to all./
I feel the sacred energy moving in me./
I am healthy in body, mind and soul.
*Variation for healing others:
Healing energy is readily available to all. I feel the sacred energy moving in [name here]
He/She is healthy in body mind and soul.
* Repeat the affirmation verbally many times until you have it memorized.
* Continue repeating, working towards a whisper, and then mentally only.
*With closed eyes focused at the point between the eyebrows, continue with ever-increasing concentration.
Practice for 20 to 30 minutes (longer if you wish). If your schedule makes that time not possible, then please do it as close to that time as you can, while visualizing your thoughts joining in with the stream of consciousness already created by your fellow practitioners.
Working the affirmation whenever you have a chance on ensuing days is also recommended.
Thank you, and may we work together with great energy! #10
